Building capable fathers, and allowing all daughters  resources and a safe space to learn about healthy relationships with their fathers, partners, and friends.

When I look at my life to date, I'm lucky enough to have done so many things. Some things I am proud of, others not so much. I have earned accolades, made mistakes, felt the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows.

The one constant that has not; and will never change is that the absolute highlight, the greatest honour in my life - is fathering my two daughters.

My Daughters don’t know this, and I don’t say it out loud, but in many ways, they have saved my life. As a young, scared boy with no handbook on how to be a man, I struggled navigating relationships, life experiences, and the world.

The older I get and the more wisdom I collect through experience and lessons presented to me, the more Im absolutely sure that part of my purpose in this lifetime, is to make sure that my daughters have as safe, and peaceful an upbringing as they can. That they are shown through my actions the importance of discipline, kindness, contribution and persistence.

Finally, that through my actions and the way I treat them: that they know the standard for what they will accept in how men treat them; and to be uncompromising in holding that standard - knowing that they are worthy of protection, provision, and above all else, love.

My thoughts on being a father dovetail into my 3 life pillars. The 3 boxes I want to spend the rest of my days on this earth ticking. They are:

  • Fulfil my purpose

  • Contribute to/serve my community

  • Love and lead my family

In starting dads and daughters, I feel that selfishly I am able to tick two, if not all 3 of my boxes.

The goal: Help build capable fathers and teach daughters all I can about healthily and safely navigating the world.

May we continue to be better dads, better partners, better friends, better men.

Upcoming events

We are raising funds to hold our first Dads & Daughters event this year.

The event will be open to all fathers, and we invite them to bring their daughters along particularly if they are teens 16+ as we tackle issues and start a conversation around healthy relationships with men.

Why is this the topic of discussion?

There are so many important topics and talking points when it comes to fatherhood and raising daughters. We have chosen to address healthy relationships with men given the recent attention that domestic violence has received in our community. Acknowledging that violence in the home is a long-standing issue, with it being widely talked about at the moment it is an opportune time to have open conversations about it.

What can we hope to explore with the panel?

- How can I create a safe space for my daughters to talk to me about their relationships?

- What can I be doing to set an example for my daughters, in how a man should behave?

- What does a healthy relationship with my daughter / wife look like?

There isn’t anything off topic and we invite all questions and viewpoints for discussion, so long as its done in a respectful way.

Who will be there?

Our panel will be made up of several qualified speakers. Confirmed as our expert will be Istok Stanojevic.
